Daft Punk‘s video for Random Access Memories‘ ”Instant Crush”, featuring the Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, is here. It’s a tragic love story featuring museum dummies, one of which is fashioned in Casablancas’ likeness. Blink and you’ll miss the cameo by Daft Punk’s helmets. The video was directed by Warren Fu and produced by Daft Arts. It was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Steafast Tin Soldier” and the TV show “The Twilight Zone”. Casablancas’ face was sculpted by Tony Gardner, the lead make-up artist on Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. He also designed Daft Punk’s helmets.
